Allium in Fairford has been awarded the title of Which? Good Food Guide South West Restaurant of the Year. The Cotswold restaurant will now go on to compete for the national award.

The city of Mainz, a renowned German wine centre that borders the great wine river of the Rhine, has been introduced as a new member of the global Great Wine Capitals network. Mainz is the capital of the German state Rheinland-Pfalz, the most famous wine region in Germany. It is home to the German Wine Institute, the German Wine Fund, and the Verband Deutscher Prädikats- und Qualitätsweingüter Wine Bourse, which brings together the top winemakers of Germany with the wine merchants of the world.

The 2008 New Zealand Coffee Festival is again underway June 6-8 at the Viaduct Harbour Marine Village (135 Halsey St, Auckland), drawing thousands of Aucklanders, from coffee professionals to those who just love their daily hit of espresso, to the country’s biggest coffee event.
Festivalgoers get the chance to taste the best espresso, and watch New Zealand’s best baristas compete for the country’s richest barista prize, the New Zealand Latte Art Championships worth NZ$2,000.
