2008 Prague Food Festival (June 20th - 22nd)

Prague Food FestivalIn recent years, Prague has earned a reputation for its diverse and creative cuisine – a city where you can experience everything from tantalizing traditional Czech dishes, to exquisite international fare.

Foodies visiting the Czech capital in June should definitely include the second annual Prague Food Festival in their schedule.

The three-day event will be held on Prague’s Zofin Island, from 12 noon to 10 pm every day from June 20th through 22nd.

In addition to the exquisite food prepared by the 37 best chefs in the Czech Republic (all listed in Maurer’s Grand Restaurants, the Czech equivalent of the Michelin Guide), the Prague Food Festival also features great Czech wines and beer, as well as a diverse and entertaining cultural program.

At just 350 CZK a day, it’s definitely a bargain, especially since the ticket price includes 250 CZK worth of vouchers for food and drink. Just bring your appetite!

Both of the Radisson SAS Alcron Hotel’s restaurants – the gourmet fish & seafood Alcron Restaurant, as well as the La Rotonde, which features modern Czech and international cuisine – have been listed within the TOP 10 of Maurer’s Grand Restaurants over the last several years.

On June 20th & 21st, Chef Roman Paulus and his talented team from the Alcron Hotel will prepare a menu of Rillete of smoked salmon with a fennel salad and honey- mustard sauce, pan fried Sea Bass with thyme, eggplant caviar and sun-dried tomato oil and an Elder tart for dessert.

Chef Paulus is also participating in the live cooking show, where chefs will demonstrate the preparation of their dishes as well as share their culinary tricks with the audience.
