For over 15 years, the family-run Barcelona Tapas Y Restaurante – the home of warm Spanish ambience, delicious tapas and wine - has been providing Londoners with an authentic taste of Spain in the middle of the City. Now their extensive Spanish wine selection has been voted Wine List of The Year 2007 by Square Meal’s Imbibe Magazine.

There’s a new highlight on Istanbul’s restaurant scene: the exclusive Gaja Roof Restaurant at the Swissôtel The Bosphorus. Since reopening last summer, the restaurant has developed into a major hotspot on Istanbul’s fine dining scene.

Suitable for teddy bears and lovers of the great outdoors alike, Harrods Food Halls have launched a collection of gourmet picnics for summer. Every picnic is made by Harrod’s own chefs and packed in its own individual smart cooker bag, complete with water, accessories and a choice of Chardonnay or Claret (apart from the Children’s picnic).

“Eating Kosher”, Israel’s first kosher gourmet festival takes place next week in Petach Tikva, a sleepy town to the east of Tel Aviv. The festival aims to showcase just what a superb gastronomic experience kosher food can be. Petach Tikva is just a short bus ride or drive away from Tel Aviv city centre and entrance to the festival is free.

Tapas Fantasticas, 28-29 June, 12pm-6pm, is a new free festival created by Wines from Rioja celebrating Spanish tapas, wine and lifestyle. The colourful event will be running over two fun filled days at Ely’s Yard, The Truman Brewery, Brick Lane, London E1.
