BBC Good Food Show Scotland Returns to Glasgow SECC

Gordon Ramsay in the Winter Kitchen at the 2007 BBC Good Food Show ScotlandFollowing a highly successful first year in 2007, the BBC Good Food Show Scotland is delighted to be returning to the SECC this autumn between 31 October and 2 November.

Celebrity chefs Gordon Ramsay and James Martin will once again top the bill as the show brings together top quality local producers in a showcase of Scotland’s culinary heritage and expertise.

Last year nearly 15,000 visitors enjoyed a day at the show and this year even more are expected to come to the SECC looking for advice and inspiration from the country’s top chefs and the chance to buy great quality food from local producers.

The Winter Kitchen sponsored by Sainsbury’s will be the setting for entertaining and inspirational live demonstrations from leading chefs including Gordon Ramsay, James Martin, Michael Caines and Andrew Fairlie, combining celebrity chefs with some of the best local talent in a feast of fantastic cooking.

The search for good, clean and fair producers also comes to Scotland as Slow Food UK ask the public to nominate their favourite producers to win free “bursary” stands at the show. Slow Food will also be conducting Taste Workshops during the show with the aim of encouraging visitors to understand more about food, how it tastes and where it comes from to make the act of eating all the more pleasurable.

Also championing the Slow Food aims will be the Perthshire Produce stand which was extremely popular with visitors last year. Perth is a Cittaslow town, part of an international network of over 100 European towns where good food, local produce and traditional production methods are at the heart of ensuring the highest possible quality of life for local residents and visitors alike. At the BBC Good Food Show Scotland, Perth will be showcasing some of their very best locally produced food ranging from smoked salmon and organic meat to honey, ice cream, confectionery and preserves.

Other popular exhibitors returning to the show this year include the RAF who will be promoting front line careers in catering, Demijohn, Valvona & Crolla, Quality Meat Scotland, Wiseman’s Dairies, The Really Garlicky Company, Mackies and Graham’s Dairies. Amongst the many new exhibitors for this year will be Aspalls Cider, Ashers Bakery and Weardale Soup making it the perfect place for some great foodie shopping – or even to make a start on the Christmas list.

Tickets to the show are available to book in advance on the website www.bbcgoodfoodshow.com so why not treat yourself (or a friend!) to a trip to the BBC Good Food Show Scotland and experience the very best food from local producers, make a start on the Christmas shopping, update yourself on all the latest cooking trends and be inspired for your next dinner party or family meal!
