Guests can now enjoy a wide variety of rustic Spanish specialities in The Gore Hotel’s Bar 190. The Gore’s new Head Chef, Taher Djeebet, who has lived and worked in Spain, has used his Mediterranean experiences to create a Tapas menu bursting with traditional Spanish flavours. With a mix of cold and warm dishes, these tasty tapas (priced between £3.50 and £4.50) are ideal for sharing whilst socialising in the bar, or as a light bite for one.

As the nights draw in, The Granary Hotel and Restaurant in Shenstone, near Kidderminster, has been turning the clocks back with a fresh take on some of its most popular dishes. The Granary’s new menu for autumn includes some hearty starters, such as home-made roasted butternut squash soup with basil pesto, and a salad of sautéed black pudding with charlotte potatoes and bacon.

Thanks to his Mum encouraging him to bake cakes, Bryan Webb side-stepped a job down the mines - as a school-leaving Valleys boy at that time was expected to do - opting to become a chef instead. As luck would have it, his first job was with Sonia and Neville Blech at The Crown in Whitebrook, near Monmouth - the only Michelin starred restaurant in Wales.

Culinary legend Michel Roux will be among top chefs sharing recipe tips as the CityLife.co.uk Manchester Food and Drink Festival serves up a feast for food lovers everywhere.
