Culinary legend Michel Roux will be among top chefs sharing recipe tips as the CityLife.co.uk Manchester Food and Drink Festival serves up a feast for food lovers everywhere. Back for its 11th year, the festival is the largest of its kind in the UK and includes scores of events spread across Greater Manchester.

Following a highly successful first year in 2007, the BBC Good Food Show Scotland is delighted to be returning to the SECC this autumn between 31 October and 2 November. Celebrity chefs Gordon Ramsay and James Martin will once again top the bill as the show brings together top quality local producers in a showcase of Scotland’s culinary heritage and expertise. Last year nearly 15,000 visitors enjoyed a day at the show and this year even more are expected to come to the SECC looking for advice and inspiration from the country’s top chefs and the chance to buy great quality food from local producers.

The South Australian town of Ceduna hosts Australia’s largest oyster festival, the annual Oysterfest. Taking place from 2-5 October, the festival offers music, dance, competitions for all ages, crafts, wine and the wonderful fresh oysters from Smoky Bay and Denial Bay on the beautiful Murat Bay foreshore at Ceduna.

Cardiff Bay’s impressive waterfront will once again be a food lover’s paradise when the Welsh capital holds its annual International Food & Drink Festival (11-13 July 2008). Many of the companies taking part are True Taste Wales Food and Drink Award winners, and everything from cakes, seafood and liqueurs to chocolate, cheese and meat will be available to try and buy.

“Eating Kosher”, Israel’s first kosher gourmet festival takes place next week in Petach Tikva, a sleepy town to the east of Tel Aviv. The festival aims to showcase just what a superb gastronomic experience kosher food can be. Petach Tikva is just a short bus ride or drive away from Tel Aviv city centre and entrance to the festival is free.
