Aged 18, Steven Doherty began as an apprentice at the Savoy. He then moved to Le Gavroche as a Commis Chef and gradually worked his up to the role of Chef de Partie followed by a two year stage to the Alain Chapel’s restaurant in France before returning to become a Sous Chef for Albert Roux’s. Le Gavroche went on to gain three Michelin stars making Steven the first ever British head chef at a three Michelin-starred establishment.

Albert Roux, alongside his brother Michel, was recognised for his outstanding contribution to the hospitality industry at the annual Catey Awards earlier this month. The shortlist included Gordon Ramsay, Marco Pierre White and Sir Rocco Forte.

Leeds-based Pantin Hotels is collaborating with world-renowned chef, Albert Roux OBE, for its first luxury boutique hotel, The Ellington. Albert Roux will oversee menu creation in all areas at The Ellington in Leeds, ensuring that the finest produce is used, that it is in season, and where possible, sourced from local suppliers.
